Get A (Second) Life
Monday, January 15, 2007 1:05Well, the online media frenzy has latched on to the virtual world known as Second Life, and corporations are climbing on board. But is there substance beyond the novelty of showcasing everything imaginable in a virtual world?
Circuit City, Sears and other major companies are betting that the answer is a resounding “yes.”
In case you missed it, Second Life is described as “…a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by a total of 2,470,170 people from around the globe.”
I would enjoy receiving any comments on this phenomenom that is catching on like wildfire.
