Steve Jobs Does It Again

Although I am currently using Windows on a Compaq laptop (and like it), I have to admit that I have a fascination with everything Apple and Macintosh. I have owned some Macs in the past. From a business and practical, everyday use standpoint, I like Windows. But the glitsy graphics, audio, digital imaging and video capabilities of a Mac are fun and attractive. Of course, the advertising, design and graphics community already knows that. It’s the standard.

It is very evident that the marketing “halo effect” from the phenomenal popularity of everything iPod, including iTunes, has definitely extended to Macintosh computers. Sales are up and climbing steadily. But there is an even more interesting phenomenon going on here. It’s the persona of Steve Jobs, including his charisma, leadership and ability to introduce cutting edge products with showmanship, style and excitement.

His recent announcement of the iPhone, which has been speculated about for some time now, is no exception. This innovative communications tool has a multitude of exciting and innovative features. Oh, yes. Lucky Cingular. They have exclusive distribution rights and will be venturing forth with Jobs on other ventures.

It’s getting interesting.
