Microsoft Office File Format Converter Download Location

You will need the Microsoft Office File Format Converter if you are using Office 2003 (most of us) and someone sends you an Office file (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) created in Office 2007 (which is now being sold).

Most companies and individuals are still using Office 2003 but it will be useful to have this converter, since you will probably receive some files in the future originating in Office 2007. Office 2003 will not read those files without errors, from what I have learned.

There is also a free, open source alternative to the Microsoft Office suite that works very well and is compatible with Office files, Open Office. It is a large download, only recommended for broadband users.

Microsoft, as a company, is becoming a problem. I hate bloated software that runs very slow. And now I am being forced to install more software to open new documents created in a new software that has a new interface, requires fresh investment of time to learn the same.

Why cant they agree to a standard format ? We the users are at fault. If we REFUSE to use the new software version completely, the company will learn a few lessons.
