Wow. Now the tech press is on a roll about security issues with Windows Vista. They are all over it. Even Symantec’s CEO now says he wouldn’t upgrade to Vista at this time.

I had a decision to make recently. Upgrade my pleasant-to-use Compaq laptop and deal with other internal upgrade issues to effectively use Windows Vista, or consider a computer with another operating system. I opted for a different computer with a different operating system.

I always liked Macs. Some of my earliest computers were Macs, but then I veered off into the world of Windows for many, many years. I also thought that the Mac laptops with the G4 processor could be faster. Well, now that issue has disappeared with the new Macs, featuring the Intel duo core processors.

I have a new MacBook. Man, it is fast. And so cool to use. It is glitzy, fluid, rock solid and beautifully made. Plus, with Mac OSX build on Unix, it’s secure and highly reliable.

I could set up this machine for Windows as well. But why bother? There is plenty of Mac software available, especially online. Actually, more than ever. My main Microsoft “concession” on the Mac was my purchase of Office for the Mac. Other than that, I am all set.
