The latest info is that Toshiba will be offering their basic HD-A2 player at
$99 for one week only, beginning July 22. An added bonus is three free
HD-DVDs.

Unfortunately, it appears that some activations of Apple’s new iPhone have gone badly. After waiting in line 36 hours some customers are still unable to activate their phone. One customer says he is “documenting the AT&T circus call by call on my blog.”
He has had his hold calls dropped, been patched into other users [...]
