iPad: Yes, There Is A “Wow” Factor
Saturday, May 1, 2010 8:20Now that I have been using an iPad for a while, I can only sum up my experience and reaction to it in one word: wow.
Some of the tech press are not exagerrating. This truly has the potential to become a “transformative” device, changing computing as we know it.
I love technology, and slowly gravitated toward getting it. But I also had conservative expectations about it.
I have found it to be a very useful productivity tool, though I admit that is not why most people would probably get one. This surprised me. As an online copywriter and Internet marketer, I always felt that the benefit of productivity would be a plus.
It is not a substitute for my MacBook Pro. But it’s a fantastic supplement. And, although I am aware of the much hyped criticism about lack of muiltitasking, no flash, etc., these have not turned out to be deterrents for me. There are workarounds.
The Apple app ecosystem is a powerful resource for this device. Don’t underestimate that, either.
So much has been written about this device, there is no need for a long winded essay from me at this point. Just be aware that you will see enterprise applications increasingly developed for business. And it is fantastic for multimedia, especially as more optimized iPad apps are developed.
This is definitely a winner in my book.
